Aluminum Frame & Fork

We’re competitive in more senses than one. Pulling out all the stops to make this a performance beast, we used lightweight 6061 aluminum for the frame and fork welded with refined race proven geometry. The use of large shapes and thinly extruded tubing maximizes swift ride qualities with modest high-quality materials. While this frameset holds its own at any race, no one can beat how competitively priced this steed is.

Flip-Flop Hub

The flip-flop hub allows you to change up the way you want to ride your bike with ease. Simply put, there are two settings. By flipping the wheel in the frame, you effectively change whether your bike coasts or not. Putting your legs in constant control, tackle the streets fixed like the urban hustlers or sail through your daily adventures freewheeled, pedalling and coasting at your will.

Riser Handlebars

Speed is nothing without control. While nearly everything has been stripped down and tuned for performance, we didn’t forget about control and comfort. The wide & low 31.8mm oversized handlebar and stem setup gives you the nimble handling you’d expect from any race bike, yet with a laidback, casual riding position, so you can look ahead to your every move. Who said speed and style was ever a compromise?

*Extremely* solid bike for the money.
Absolutely zero regrets except maybe wishing I had bought 2 so I could swap parts/tires between them. My bike showed up absolutely rock solid, straightforward assembly. If you know bikes you know what this aluminum frame is going to feel like on various road surfaces vs a steel frame. It has dual-pivot cantilever brakes (search dual pivot brakes+Park Tool on YT for adjustment instructions) they brake quite adequately and will throw you over the bars if you don't use you front and back brakes together. The brakes are designed to be used together almost all of the time, that way you also get even wear. The rack on my bike is Ibera, fenders are RBRL, pedals are Wellgo, light is Lsan, mirror is West biking, cup holder is Mizzato, Kryptonite cable and Master lock, don't recall the phone holder but it's here on Amazon. All of this except the pink tub is on Amazon. I highly recommend all these products I've put on this bike as they are all mirrored on another bike. Several of these products such as the mirrors and cup holders come in packs of two, which I highly recommend. I have used all of these products hard as I do food delivery on this and the other bike. This bike has held up crazy well, I'm even impressed with the way the tires are holding up. Handlebars are a bit hard on my wrists sometimes but I'm not really used to flat bars. The grips are very grippy and the bike feels very nimble with the flat bars. I find myself doing long swoops in the road when the traffic is clear on this bike. Just a joy to ride and it weighs *nothing* which is nice because I have to carry it up several flights of stairs every day. 10/10 I'd recommend, this bike is plenty fast with this 48/16 gearing and I have no problem sprinting up hills or maintaining speed in traffic. I've rode fixie before and I love it, but with an aluminum frame it feels weird so I prefer to leave it in single speed set up. Seat is surprisingly nice too, except that it's VERY grippy which isn't bad except I set the seat very high on this bike and sometimes things get a bit smashed in my nono zone because my pants get caught on the seat and, well, smash my bits and bobs. Tires are 700x25c Kenda Whatevers, very adequate, just be aware you probably aren't going to get anything over 28c on this bike because of clearance on the rear brake, maybe 30-32c without the rear brake, but the frame is pretty tight. Maybe a few mm more clearance on the front fork. Buy this bike! It paid for itself doing food delivery in 5 days for me.

I mainly ride MTB, but riding my Mountain bike on the street for exercise and cardio is brutal. The geometry, drive train, suspension, and wide tires soak up a lot of your energy without propelling the bike very far. So I was looking for the lightest and most simple bike I could get that will make me work hard yet easy enough to go as fast as my friends on their road bikes so I can keep up.

Again I'm used to MTB so to me this bike is crazy small and lightweight I think it's about 15 lbs which is less than half of my mountain bike and my mountain bike is a bare-bones lightweight hard tail. When I pedal this bike it just goes fast. You definitely feel it on hills or rough pavement because it's got one gear and you're married to it, but the bike's lightweight and low rolling resistance make it completely bearable, and it's good exercise.

I saw 2 options offered by 6KU on Amazon this aluminum frame and a steel frame. Both were similar in price but I opted for the lighter bike. I later learned that steel bikes feel smoother as they are dense enough to absorb vibration, but not sure if that's a big deal for me. I'm used to riding bikes with suspension so any road bike I think will ride rough in comparison to what I'm conditioned to.

Another thing to adapt to is the rim brakes. I'm used to hydraulic so these rim brakes are very weak sauce. It's been decades since riding a bike with rim brakes so not sure these are typical or just bad. I think it is likely they are just bad because I adjusted mine to bite as hard as possible and they still are weak and the brake levers feel cheap and crunchy. I could probably upgrade them if I end up using this bike every day, but I think the concept is to keep everything bare bones like a track bike. The less mech the better and the less chance of adding weight or mechanical failures to your riding experience. This is being sold primarily as a Fixie and anyone using it that way will likely remove the brakes eventually. So maybe they added the cheap brake as a kind of "training wheels" until you are confident in your fixie mojo.

I did attempt running the bike as a Fixie a few times. It's crazy! I can see the appeal, it is fun and adds a new technical discipline to cycling, but it is so counterintuitive to mountain biking that for me it's really difficult to learn this style of riding without sacrificing my intuitions for riding off-road. For example, if you need to hop over a hazard, bump, or jump your normal instinct is to level your pedals to give you the most ground clearance and distribute your weight in the most stable stance possible to absorb any impact using your knees. When I first tried to hop a curb on the fixie I instinctively tried to level my pedals and the crankset nearly launched me off the bike. When you're riding fixed gear you have to actively remind yourself of that fact constantly until it becomes second nature and I'm not sure there's enough reward to me to do so at this point, but the option is there if I change my mind. For now, this is just an awesome single-speed bike. It's a much better bike than you're going to get at Walmart or Target for a much lower price and since there are no gears or additional mechanical elements to complicate it, it is easy to assemble in about 30 minutes. Another plus is, aside from the occasional wash when dirty, it's pretty much maintenance-free.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bonitas y ligeras, pero delicadas

5.0 out of 5 stars Gran opción.
Reviewed in Mexico on July 25, 2023
