Early in the day, guests can explore community resources, including representatives from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), sororities, fraternities, trade schools, and job/career recruiters. Special highlights include free haircuts and engaging performances such as the Vision Step Team and Battle of the Bands. Special guest speakers, including Kwabi Amoah-Forson and Arvin Mosley, alongside readings by BIPOC authors, enrich the day with knowledge and inspiration, making this event not just a celebration but a learning experience.

The Black History Celebration culminates in a free family swim session, welcoming everyone from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, with swim caps provided to accommodate all styles of hair. Celebrate Black History Month with a vibrant community event featuring dance, spoken word, arts & crafts, and more. This free event at People’s Community Center showcases the achievements and contributions of African Americans to our society.
